Platamonas-Ambelakia-Pantelejmon-Optional excursions
We will visit the Platamonas fortress, erected in the 13th century by the crusaders, from which there is a beautiful view of the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea. We will pass through the Tembi Valley, in ancient times one of two narrow passages to southern Greece. It was here where the Persian and Alexander the Great marched. We will reach the village of Ambelakia, which has been forgotten today, where we will stop for a rest or Greek coffee. Then we will go to the Old Panteleimon, situated on the slopes of Olympus. Old Panteleimon is famous for its mountain architecture, stone houses and excellent taverns.
